How It Started
We built the tool ambitious readers actually needed.
Did It Today was designed from the ground up for high-achieving students — kids who are ready for more than what the average classroom offers, and parents who believe that the right habits, started early, make all the difference.
We worked with experienced educators to develop passages and questions that go well beyond surface-level recall. Inference. Vocabulary in context. Author's purpose. The kind of critical thinking that top students need — and that almost no reading platform was teaching.
The result is 14 focused minutes a day that moves the needle — not flashcards, not gamified distractions, but rigorous reading practice calibrated by grade. Students who practice consistently see stronger performance across every subject, not just English. And because parents deserve full visibility, every session triggers an instant email report, so progress is always measurable.
What We Believe
The principles behind everything we build.
Challenge builds confidence: We don't believe in making things easy. We believe in making them achievable — at a level that genuinely stretches a child's thinking and rewards real effort.
Habits beat bursts: 14 minutes every day beats two hours on a weekend. We design strictly for consistency because that's where real, lasting academic improvement comes from.
Parents are partners: We give parents full visibility into progress — paired with instant email reports after every session to deliver meaningful signals about growth, consistency, and where to focus next.
Content matters: We obsess over the quality of our passages. Interesting topics, precise language, and questions that reward genuine analytical thinking — never guessing.
Ambition, not exclusion: High-achieving doesn't mean elite. Any child who wants to read better belongs here. We build to fuel ambition — not for gatekeeping.
Simple done brilliantly: We resist the urge to add feature bloat. One daily passage. One set of high-rigor questions. Done well, consistently. That is the product — and it is enough.
Our Mission
Every child deserves to read at the top of their potential.
We believe reading comprehension is the foundation of all academic achievements. Not just decoding words — but understanding ideas, drawing inferences, and thinking critically about what they read. Did it Today exists to give every ambitious student the daily practice and the right level of challenge to get there — one focused 14-minute session at a time.
